Where the apartments come from
We collect the listings from the landlords' and housing queues' own websites: municipal housing companies, private landlords, housing queues such as Bostadsförmedlingen in Stockholm, Boplats Väst and Boplats Syd, and portals such as HomeQ. We go through them several times an hour, around the clock, so a new apartment shows up here shortly after the landlord has posted it. When the landlord no longer lists it, we remove it here too.
Right now there are available apartments in 278 of Sweden's 290 municipalities. Under Available apartments you can see what's available in each municipality and county.
We only show rental apartments with first-hand contracts, which you rent directly from the landlord. We leave out sublets. When the listing says that an apartment is student, youth or senior housing, or that the contract is for a limited time, the apartment says so too.
How you can tell how an apartment is let
Landlords let their apartments in different ways, and that decides whether you can get one without queue time. We read it from the listing and the landlord's rules, and mark the apartment with one of three labels.
-
First come
The apartment goes to whoever applies first and meets the requirements. Queue time doesn't matter, so apply quickly.
3,155 apartments right now
-
Lottery
The apartment is drawn by lot among the applicants, or the landlord chooses among them. Queue time doesn't matter.
3,869 apartments right now
-
Housing queue
The apartment goes to the applicant with the longest queue time or the most queue points.
10,736 apartments right now
When we don't know how an apartment is let, we leave the label off rather than guess.
We don't rent out any apartments
Bostadsvaka.se is neither a landlord nor a housing queue. You always apply directly with the landlord or the housing queue, and they decide who gets to rent, by their own rules and requirements. We make sure you hear about the apartments in time.
